| Osmany Betancourt, CUBA
The principal theme of my work is man in his environment, his problems, his
defects, what is lacking. Often I work with my own face as if it were a
mirror. The Expression of pain and suffering is from the point of view of my
own face. Like theater, I don't try to create a character but to feel like the
character. We are one. Even though I haven't lived through what the
character I am creating demonstrates, I try to put myself in his place. It is as if
you see me & you see yourself. |
