The last item on the list was eliminating ALL Cultural Exchange visits from Cuba in the arts, music & literature. In spite of these obstacles I have not given up but have kept on traveling legally to Cuba-as a professional researcher, every year. I was awarded the Jose Maria Heredia Medal of Honor in recognition of my contribution to Cuban Culture in 2005.
